1. Summary

The law gives you rights over your personal information. This page lists the main laws, what each one gives you, and how to use those rights with hussh. Each law links to its primary source so you can read it yourself.

3. Using your rights with hussh

You can see, export, correct and delete the information hussh holds about you. How to do each is set out in sections 4 and 7 of our Privacy Policy.

To make a request, or if you cannot find the control you need, contact us through the contact page.

4. Consent requests (PCHP)

PCHP is our open consent protocol. A service asks for your data, you approve or decline, and you get a receipt you can cancel later. It is a public draft, open for comment. Read it at hushh.ai/pchp.

5. Further reading

People whose public work shaped how we think about personal data:

  • Tim Berners-Lee, Inventor of the web. Now builds Solid, where your data lives in a pod you control.
  • Shoshana Zuboff, Harvard Business School. Named “surveillance capitalism.”
  • Max Schrems, Founder, noyb. Won the court cases that changed how Europe's data crosses borders.
  • Latanya Sweeney, Harvard Data Privacy Lab. Showed how easily “anonymous” data identifies people. Her work shaped HIPAA.
  • Helen Nissenbaum, Cornell Tech. Privacy as information going only where you'd expect it to.
  • Bruce Schneier, Security technologist. Data and Goliath: how surveillance works and how to push back.
  • Carissa Véliz, University of Oxford. Privacy Is Power: why privacy is shared, not only personal.
  • Alessandro Acquisti, Carnegie Mellon. Research on how people actually make privacy choices.

6. Independence

Every law, organization and person named here is independent of hussh and linked to their own public work. Nothing here implies affiliation or endorsement in either direction. Nothing on this page is legal advice.

7. Corrections

If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us through the contact page and we will fix it.
